In case anyone is interested in hosting an MTS they have built on a VPS closer to an exchange, I've been using the following for the last 8 months.

They aren't the best VPS you can buy out there but I have had no issues with them so far and they are a bit cheaper than some of their competitors.

How do you handle the restarting of IB TWS every day? (Assuming you use IB for your trade.)

Use IB's gateway rather than their TWS. The gateway doesn't shut down every day, and can just sit there indefinitely. It is meant for API users like systems traders. It ships with TWS, so you probably already have it installed. The only change is the port number, which will be different than the API port in TWS.
