crosses below/crosses above

Can anyone shed some light on where in the QScript documentation the terms "crosses below" and "crosses above" are discussed?

These appear in several scripts written by others that I downloaded years ago. They are used and work in conditional expressions such as "if x crosses above..." but I have no idea where this came from. Thanks for any help!
