Hi Baha,

I think Larry Williams has some of the best stuff on position sizing. You are right, position sizing is a lot more important than win/loss ratio and most other metrics. If you just search under his name - will find his stuff on money management.

Best,
Simon

Baha,

I don't trade gold, but want to take a look at that price series. What contract is that in your recent post?

Thanks.

ToddS.

Hi Todd,

The chart I posted is GCc1. It is the continuous one.
GCM16 should be the current one.

I went long again hoping to ride it till 1326 and if it breaks that, unlikely though, then to 1367.

We will see.

Do you only trade the ES Todd?

I try to stick with Gold, ES and some currencies.

Baha,

I trade ES and ZS only, these days. Can't imagine having any kind of life with more than that! It would be an interesting forum thread in itself just to hear how and why traders decide on a particular instrument(s). Nonetheless, the gold series seems intriguing, thought I'd do a workup at some point. Thanks for the information.

Todd

Hi Todd,

Thanks for the reply.

Elsewhere people would mock me for saying this but I choose to trade gold because I believe the gold market has a vibration similar to mine(supposing that everything vibrates in the universe). I feel like I can harmonize and understand the market better. There are not many ways for me to prove this but that's my belief, you are more than welcome to call it superstition. Other markets: I usually choose currencies that correlate +/- with the markets I trade.

I have been short the Swiss franc, believe it or not, due to its fundamentals. I look at fundamentals as well.
People are usually hot or cold about doing technical stuff vs fundamentals. I try to combine them like combining male energy and female energy.
At the end of the day, it comes down to whatever works for you.

I wish everybody a great weekend
