Re: Systems Workshop: "Buttonwood" E-mini daytrading system

Hi sbank,

Thanks, it does seem most stats improved. But like Earik said - we need to get average trade number quite a bit higher than where it is now.
Without reaching at least $80, in my opinion, system will not be profitable, I think that should be priority at this point.

Re: Systems Workshop: "Buttonwood" E-mini daytrading system

Hi Earik, Wanted to ask you about stops and targets. I know you are against using those in daily systems, do you feel the same way on such short time frame also ? Just to make sure I understand the process clearly, right now system is in the Market all the time, and trades when "weather" is favorabl...

Re: Systems Workshop: "Buttonwood" E-mini daytrading system

Thanks Earik, I only paid attention to the percent number...of course that is based on account size which at this point is not important, thanks for reminder :) It is really great to watch your work and logic which is used in progress. Especially because for me single biggest struggle has always bee...

Re: Systems Workshop: "Buttonwood" E-mini daytrading system

Thanks Earik, Really great thread. Wanted to ask a few questions, I assume that these are all on 5 min chart, and that it's regular market hours chart only ? Another thing - I see some 35% and larger draw-downs, I did not expect to see such large ones on such short time frame system like 5 min, is t...

Re: Systems Workshop: "Buttonwood" E-mini daytrading system

Hi Earik,

 As I was looking at MA combos I noticed 8/35 being closest to having both Fib length MA's, and was going to suggest it - but you rarely
miss anything :D

Re: Systems Workshop: "Buttonwood" E-mini daytrading system

Hi Earik,

Great undertaking !!!

ES, in my opinion, is most difficult Market to systematically trade intra-day, I am sure many will contribute.

Thanks,

Re: Volume Delta Charts

Hi Earik, In your post - only number "3" works, once data is re-downloaded I get correct looking chart. The bid ask and last are actually separate, asynchronous feeds. Many traders assume these three (bid, ask & last) components are all synchronized, they are not, maybe that is what creating this is...

Re: FIBS....

Todd, thanks for your chart. I am not sure I understand "lots of ways to do it" part, I can tell you with high degree of confidence, that if you want an objective approach with only two possible scenarios, the best we can ever expect, there is only one way to do it. Market had to make a stand right ...

Re: ES (energy perspective) coming into the weekend

Thanks Earik,

As far as last week goes - where do we call to order one of those at least once every few months ? :D
