Re: SpreadIB for Wave59, help !
Maybe check your setting on W59 Data Setup and > IB setup. Also SpreadIB TWS connection settings > Broadcast File settings. Destination path should be C:\Users\NAME\Wave59\data\IB. This should be the working directory address for the IB data file. SpreadIB is in my Program Files, not (x86). If that ...

Re: SpreadIB for Wave59, help !
JGL, I've been using SpreadIB for years. It works well. The most recent version can be had here: http://groups.wave59.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=48. The setup pdf doc is for TWS, not TS. Just unzip everything, create a SpreadIB file in Program Files, and drop all SpreadIB files in there. Clicking on th...

Re: Error opening new charts
Hi all, I have been getting the same message recently also. Thought it was an issue with my "travel computer" but it popped up this week on my back home office machine. I was able to get things working again by deleting the past day's data file for the most recently viewed chart symbol, and reloadin...

Re: Trading Patterns
Joe, I'm sure I speak for everyone here in offering gratitude for your enormous efforts here. I personally have to admire the fact that you find the time (!) not to mention inclination to do this. It is just too easy for everyone to get involved with "taking care of business" and that makes cogent r...
Re: GOLD
Baha, I trade ES and ZS only, these days. Can't imagine having any kind of life with more than that! It would be an interesting forum thread in itself just to hear how and why traders decide on a particular instrument(s). Nonetheless, the gold series seems intriguing, thought I'd do a workup at some...
Re: GOLD
Baha,
I don't trade gold, but want to take a look at that price series. What contract is that in your recent post?
Thanks.
ToddS.

SpreadIB issue
I've finally gotten around to installing the new SpreadIB utility (http://groups.wave59.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=48). It's working fine, with one major exception: I am not able to add Globex contracts (ES, ZS, ZC, etc.)for data collection. ECBOT, spot FX, no problem. It simply will not add a Globex c...
Re: SPY/PHI
Hi guys, Baha -- I wouldn't say 1.6/1.625 are more useful in SPY than anywhere else. I think it's fair to say that all markets (or at least the ones I'm aware of!)have the same blueprint, but different characters. The numbers 1.6 and 1.625 are lower level Fib ratios (5/8, 13/8) and come from a harmo...
Re: SPY/PHI
Hi All, I got a request from one of our members to do a little explication re the charts here. The first chart shows SPY charted with monthly bars, the second with daily bars. The extensions are all 1.618, or Phi. In my practice, 1.6 makes more sense, but Phi is close enough for illustration and wid...
