Re: Speed Resistance Lines

Hi Dave,

Use the Gann fan for that. If you grab the fan with the pointing-finger cursor, you can dynamically set the slope of the 1x1. So just set that line equal to the swing itself, and all the other lines will fall into place appropriately to match.

Regards,

Earik

Re: New Order Placement Tools in 2.26

Hi Todd, One more thing -- while watching the intro video on the new order placement tools, I noticed an icon on the toolbar array that is not on mine. It's under the Geometry group, on the bottom, right underneath the squares tool. It appears to be some sort of fan. What is that? That's Barrie's "A...

NFA goes after FXCM

Hi All, One of the interesting things about being an NFA member is that I get updates every time the NFA finds someone doing something shady. I have to say that it happens way too often, unfortunately. In this case it was FXCM. They've been in trouble quite a few times already, and now they have bee...

Re: New Order Placement Tools in 2.26

Hi Todd, Sure, a trendline-if-touched option would definitely be a possibility. That will require checking the TL every tick, but that logic is pretty much already built. Let me add it to the list. (You are welcome to remind me frequently. That can help, especially these days when I'm completely dis...

New Order Placement Tools in 2.26

Hi All, Version 2.26 is about to get released, and I thought it would be a good idea to make a quick video about some of the new order placement tools there, since some of them (especially the trendline tools) won't be immediately obvious. You can download the movie from the webinar archives, or dir...

Re: Big Bertha Mechanical System

Hi Nagib, Thanks, but I have it too. The issue is getting it put into the new database, which is different than the old one, and not totally straight-forward since there are lots of things to edit like who posted, what the images were, where they are located, etc, etc. If you don't get it all right,...

Re: Big Bertha Mechanical System

Hi Nagib, I've been getting a lot of requests for those old private forums. I wanted to wait until I figured out how to integrate the old database (so we could have the old posts), but that doesn't seem to be happening any time soon. Maybe I should just set them up again and we can start over from s...

Re: Big Bertha Mechanical System

Hi Nagib, I suspect it could be done, but it's not easy to program something like that. You could use pieces and parts of it, or possibly a very simplified version. I think if you just focus on market structure, and merge more than one time frame together, you could probably come up with something t...

Re: Systems Workshop: "Buttonwood" E-mini daytrading system

Hi ND, It's always a balancing act with this stuff. You can get a smooth equity curve, but often at the price of some other variable (like annual returns). In my case, I chose to shoot for high annual returns, but I have to accept some volatility as a result. So there are definitely some deviations ...

Re: Systems Workshop: "Buttonwood" E-mini daytrading system

That Murphy's Law piece appears *everywhere* when it comes to systems. Check out the equity curve for the merged system from the MTS book itself, and the correlation with the release date: mts_equity.png A nice drawdown right after the release date to get everyone to stop trading, right before it br...
