Re: Carnage From WallStreet Giants
In the past people could just quit their job and switch to trading and make a decent income with knowing very little about trading. Why is it so hard now? Keep in mind that this is a zero-sum game and that any profits earned by one trader are lost by another. So if it were easy, meaning someone cou...

Re: Key phrases for trading systems
Hi Uwe, Everything (or almost everything ;) ) should be in QScript help. Go help - QScript help, and on that first page look for the link that says "complete glossary of keywords and functions", which you'll see down towards the bottom. That's got it all there. The "crosses over" and "crosses under"...

Re: Versioning of QScripts
If you go File - Working Directory, that's the location where all your scripts/charts/etc get stored. If you copy that entire folder to a new computer, and put the contents in its Working Directory location (which may be in a different location), you'll find that your work can quickly be moved from ...

Re: Systems Workshop: "Buttonwood" E-mini daytrading system
Hi Guys, The shorter the time frame, the larger costs/slippage become in relative terms. Just examining the average trade value itself is enough to prove this point - for daily systems, we tend to end up in the $300/trade range or so, and on daily systems, we tend to end up around $40-$50/trade. So ...

Re: Mystery Price/Time Tool
Hi Todd,
Angle Harmonics is one of Barrie's tools. It comes with his 5-pt pattern course. Although the button is visible in the new pop up, it doesn't do anything unless that enablement is activated.

Earik

Re: Systems Workshop: "Buttonwood" E-mini daytrading system
Hi orionsbelt, The function is ultramom(price, length, smooth). That returns the USM curve itself. To get a signal out of it, you have to figure out how to have the function return a +1 or -1, which is what the system expects. +1 means buy, -1 means sell. So if it's something simple, like buy if USM...

Re: Market Esoterica / Astronumerology / Bonds
Hi Richard, Astronumerology by hand, huh? :( You can automate a lot of that using Excel, and there was a guy who posted an extensive spreadsheet like that years ago. Eventually the Astronumerology module made it into W59, which solved a lot of the tedious part of doing this, although you can still t...

Re: Systems Workshop: "Buttonwood" E-mini daytrading system
Hi DC, The astro in this system doesn't say whether to buy or sell - it says whether or not the market will be volatile enough so that trend following systems will work or not, which is a big difference. I've been referring to it as "market weather" - basically, if there are going to be big waves, l...

Buttonwood_v5: changing the signals and adding a time filter Thanks to orionsbelt for running the big optimization run. It can be difficult when trying to determine which way to go with potential improvements like that, because (as a few people mentioned) there's a definite concern about potential ...
